This week, I continued my daily self portraits and tried an exercise that popped into my mind: drawing blindly. So instead of working while looking at the mirror, I closed my eyes and did big gesture drawings, feeling the edges of the pages as I went, grabbing for my initial color with my eyes shut as well. I did several and this one was my favorite. I painted the face a yellow color with my eyes open and then feelings of gratefulness washed over me for my gift of sight. I sat with that for the rest of the day as it was very powerful for me. You can see this specific drawing below.
