There’s so much to say about this topic. A few years ago I started painting en plein aire which means creating (and sometimes finishing) original artwork outside. It’s a glorious part of my art practice that I treasure. That and sketch booking! I just showed one of my favorite sketchbooks to a dear friend today and shared how my brave leap to focus on a subject (portraits at that time) that scared me.
